New reporting standards
All registered charities must complete annual reporting to Charities Services which includes filling out an Annual Return and attaching financial statements. Until recently there have been no minimum standards on the content or the quality of the financial statements. However the latest reporting standards (which came into effect on 1 April 2015), require registered charities to prepare financial statements (Performance Reports), in line with these standards.
Although the reports for Charities that come under Tiers 3 and 4 are called ‘Simple Format Reporting’ the standards that must be followed are technical and lengthly documents. The CATAS accountants are trained in the preparation of Annual Performance Reports that comply with the latest standards. If your charity needs help to comply, we can turn your accounting records into the required Performance Report.
