CATAS Accountancy Services
CATAS provides a range of accounting services to churches and church-related trusts throughout New Zealand. The service is provided via the internet using Xero on-line accounting software. Each accounting client is supported by an accountant.
Accounting services tailored to meet your needs
The accounting services provided by CATAS can be tailored to meet the unique needs of your church or church-based trust, from the following options:
- Regular financial reporting
- Preparation and filing of GST returns
- Annual financial reporting
We can set your finances so that:
- You receive assistance from CATAS on a regular basis,
- You engage us to provide financial help when needed,
- Or you manage your own accounts using Xero.
Note: Xero Cashbook is only available through a Xero Partner such as CATAS. You may wish to join the growing number of churches and trusts who manage their own finances, but have their Xero subscription through us.
Church and trust financial reporting
Regular financial reports that are available include:
- Profit and Loss,
- Budget Variance,
- Balance Sheet,
- GST, and
- Fixed Asset Register with depreciation.
We can also separately track the financial performance of multiple ministries or departments.
Charity reporting standards
Annual financial statements prepared by registered charities for financial years ending on or after 31 March 2016 must comply with reporting standards that have been set by the External Reporting Board (XRB).
Information about these standards is available here:
All the CATAS accountants are trained in the preparation of annual financial statements that comply with the standards. If your charity needs help to comply we can turn the accounting records you’ve maintained during the year into the required format. Click here to enquire about this service.
